I find the word Opportunity to be a beautiful word, a very aspiring word full of ideas and excitement; #KeySuccessIdeas - it conjures the beauty of the possible and smirks at the “impossible.” Entrepreneurs must become very friendly with the concept of Opportunity and mold it into their Daily Business Reality - Opportunity is not wishful thinking; Opportunity is the Practical Implementation of Daily Checklists and activities that bend results to your Will.
Entrepreneur Idea #1: “Opportunity is all around you, and hangs out just a tad outside your Comfort Zone!”
Entrepreneur Idea #2: “Anything Others are doing to become Magnets to Opportunity Can be done by You!”
Let us break down the following insightful quote, attributed to one of our founding fathers Thomas Jefferson: “I’m a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work the more I have of it.” Since I am a Mathematician I shall look at it statistically - I would define luck as a Probability Event, commonly called a Numbers’ Game.
Let me explain: Say you are a Realtor; by the way New or Experienced does not matter when it comes to Opportunity; and you take a training seminar with Key and he says: “In the United States for every 100 Homeowners in a community; 2 to 3 are already listed; 5 to 7 are in the Active Thinking Stage of Selling; and the rest are not thinking actively about selling.” These are NOT my Statistics - these are the Annual Statistics of Sales in the United States.
You say to yourself that you want to become “lucky” and Get Listings; Well, if you create a work plan to go to 100 doors per week and ask them if they are thinking about moving; then you will probably talk to 20 to 25 people - so your odds of getting lucky is 1 to 2 people per week; in others words you will have a chance to talk to 1 or 2 homeowners who are actively thinking about selling a week. If you do that weekly for 3 months you will end up talking to 13 to 23 Homeowners who are actively thinking about Selling - all you have to do is listen well, ask them to let you list their home; show them your Marketing Plan and you will end up with 3 to 5 listings in 3 months.
Is it Hard Work? – You betcha; Do your odds go up and you become luckier to meet the right people at the right time of their move? - Yes You do! “The Harder I work the Luckier I Get!” What if you told yourself that you will door knock your neighborhoods 25 doors a day between 5pm and 7pm and do it 6 days a week; Now you are doing 150 doors a week; and because you are not afraid to work hard you end up doing about 2,000 doors in 3 months; You know that not all doors will open but 20 to 25% will interact, you will end up interacting with 400 to 500 homeowners; and the stats tell you that 5 to 7% are Thinking of Selling - so you will be in front of 20 to 35 Future Home Sellers - Now your odds of getting appointments have increased dramatically; and you can envision getting 6 to 10 listings per quarter - it is called stacking up your odds (Luck)!
