All roads lead to Leadership - it is Time for you to Cultivate the Leader Within

The journey of Entrepreneurs and Real Estate Professionals always comes to a head at the foothills of Leadership. #KeySuccessIdeas - You may talk yourself into believing that you are simply a Salesperson or just a Real Estate Agent, and that belief may last a few months, but the sooner you realize you are playing the game of Leadership the sooner your career will start blossoming.

Stop believing that our Real Estate industry is in need of Order Takers or Transaction Managers; it is NOT - it is in desperate need of visionaries, engagers, and connected professionals. In these areas of excellence Leadership provides for the best skills.

Your first step is to affirm that you will become a great leader, and that you will take it seriously in everything you do; even if right now you may not have a firm grasp of what leadership really is. Leadership is a journey - it isn’t a word; it is a worthwhile pilgrimage that you have to take earnestly. You do so by selecting and reading good books, and maintaining a business journal on the ideas you absorb along the way. There are hundreds of books on the subject but I want you to consider “The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership: Follow Them and People Will Follow You” by John C. Maxwell. Let me share this quote from this wonderful book: “What you attract is not determined by what you want. It’s determined by who you are.”

The next step, or realization, is the fact that being inspired by what you do is essential to leadership. Leaders don’t inspire others - they are inspired and that naturally rubs off on those around them. If what you do does not create joy in your existence then inspiration has no chance of hanging around you; you are simply going through the motions of your job - you are no longer a true entrepreneur. So fall in love with what you do or get out and do something else; no one should be forcing you to do Real Estate as a career; there are plenty of other ventures that may suit you much better. To be an Entrepreneur is to pick endeavors you wish to spend your time excelling at - don’t let the money, or the illusion of it, dictate what you do.

Now that you have affirmed that Leadership is a skill you will develop, as well as the realization that you are engaged in a Career you will let inspire you (or are inspired by,) - here comes the hard work - Know thyself! You have to commit to doing the work that will help you peel yourself like an onion, and it is a journey you will take on a daily basis.

In my Workshops I introduce the notion of the first time block of the day is “Me Time.” An amount of time dictated by you, from 30 minutes up to 2 hours in some cases, in which you are doing that which connects you to you. Example: Meditation, Prayers, Affirmations, Exercise, Walking, Reflecting, Reading, Thinking, Planning, Writing, Connecting to higher Spiritual Energy, etc… Many combine 3 to 5 of these ideas and give themselves 45 minutes as a “Me Time” Time Block that is not about work, family, nor obligations - this is YOUR PERSONAL TIME

I hope this short reading opens the door to the embracing of Leadership in your life - I promise you the investment will pay off in more ways than I can describe in these modest words.  - #8WeekSuccess
