Ever since Google Launched “Personalized Search” many Real Estate Agents are confused as to their true positioning on the internet. It used to be that Google tracked your Searches when you logged in to your Google account like Gmail, iGoogle, YouTube, etc. Now Google tracks all your Searches unless you disable the “Cookie” – Why should you or Should you NOT do so has to do with your desire to know whether you have reached Page 1 of Google Organically for a specific Keyword.

Learning where you are organically positioned is becoming an important task of Real Estate Agents – so here are the steps you ought to follow to disable the Google Cookie that tracks your Searches:

1. Go to Google.com

2. Make sure you are not logged in to any of your Google Account. (You know you are NOT if you see “Sign in” on the top right of the Google Page.)

3. Perform a Search in Google.

4. On the top right of of Google Searches click on the “Gear Icon” calledOptions.

5. Scroll down to Web History and click on it.

6. If you see “Disable customizations based on search activity” then your Cookie is enabled and is tracking your Searches – Click on it to Disable it.

7. if you see “Enable customizations based on search activity” then your Cookie is disabled and there is nothing for you to do.

8. Perform the Search that you are trying to find your ranking for and you will know where your website truly ranks.
